NSW PARTIES’ FOREST POLICIES (ALL-In-One)
It is time to conserve Australia’s native forests to protect remaining biodiversity and ensure they are able to continue to capture and store carbon. All native forests need to be managed for these much needed functions. In particular, publicly owned native forests should be managed for the public interest, not for timber volumes and especially not for export to the notorious forest ‘bio’ energy industry.
The environmental and social impacts of industrial scale native forest logging are not compatible with a safe climate future and the sector is increasingly losing its social licence to operate.
